Leading food distributor modernizes 80 facilities without upfront capital

A leading food distributor had outdated lighting across many of its facilities. Aging infrastructure resulted in dim, inconsistent lighting that affected employee experience, reduced operational accuracy, and failed to meet the company’s own specifications. Meanwhile, limited capital and strict facility budgets made it challenging to fund large-scale upgrades. To advance its 2030 sustainability goals and improve operational efficiency, the company needed a cost-effective way to modernize lighting across its sites.

Redaptive delivered a comprehensive, portfolio-wide lighting upgrade program using our Infrastructure Monetization™ model. We funded, executed, and measured lighting improvements across 80 sites in 36 states and two countries, without requiring any upfront capital from our customer. This turnkey model enabled the food distributor to advance these otherwise stalled lighting upgrades, ensuring safety compliance, operational resiliency, and measurable progress toward its 2030 sustainability goals.

With 80 sites already upgraded and measurable success in energy, cost, and safety outcomes, we are expanding our collaboration with our customer to include more sites and energy conservation measures (ECMs) across the U.S., U.K., and Western Europe. The partnership’s success in lighting sets the stage for additional modernization programs across HVAC, metering, and controls, helping the company continue to drive sustainability, operational efficiency, and enterprise growth through Infrastructure Monetization.
