Working with Redaptive

What is an energy efficiency retrofit?

An energy efficiency retrofit refers to the removal of existing equipment (HVAC, lighting, etc.) in a building and the subsequent installation of updated and more efficient equipment. Energy efficiency building retrofits can result in better working conditions, greater sustainability, lower utility bills, and a reduction in a building’s energy consumption. What is an HVAC system and why upgrade?

An HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system refers to a building’s boiler and chiller and/or the DX (Direct Exchange) units, both of which move hot and cold air throughout a building’s ventilation system. HVAC systems typically account for 30% of the energy consumption in a building.  It’s also important to take inventory of the HVAC systems in your portfolio that use R-22 or Freon, as the R-22 ban, took effect January, 2020 and could make many systems far more costly to retrofit or replace. That is why upgrading your HVAC systems is more important than ever.

Why upgrade to LED lighting?

LED lights are far more energy efficient than incandescent lights and even the more recent CFLs or other fluorescents. In fact, LEDs last much longer and consume 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs, which lose most of their energy through heat. In turn, the decrease in heat can result in up to a 30% reduction in your HVAC load. Learn how upgrading to led lights can result in longer lasting bulbs and 90% less energy consumption.
